The degrees offered include Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and Associate in Applied Science. During the academic year, Ocean County College shall offer the following educational programs as described in the College catalog and make them available for viewing online in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.ocean.edu\/\" title=\"\">College catalog<\/a>. In addition, the College offers courses that will lead to degrees or certificates in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs; professional certification programs; individual professional development and personal enrichment courses; and enrichment courses for children and teens. Ocean County College Students can register for classes up to and including the last day of the add\/drop period in accordance with established&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocean.edu\/programs-courses\/courses-registration\/academic-registration-calendar\/\" title=\"Academic &amp; Registration Calendar\">registration calendars<\/a>. Prospective students can apply for admissions online or on paper. SAT exams are not required for admission into academic programs. Reg. 12319<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fair Labor Standards Act of 1968 \u2013 29 U.S.C 201-219<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Title IX Higher Education Act of 1965 (as amended by the Education Amendments of 1972, Title IX), 20 U.S.C. 1681-1686<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, 29 U.S.C 651-678<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rehabilitation Act of 1973 \u2013 29 U.S.C. 701-796i, 793-794, Section 503, and Section 504.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Revenue Sharing act of 1972 \u2013 31 U.S.C. 6716-6722<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vietnam Era Veterans\u2019 Readjustment Act of 1974 \u2013 38 U.S.C. 2011-2012<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The College is also committed to maintaining compliance with any modification of existing antidiscrimination laws or new anti-discrimination laws which apply to Ocean County College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-h4\">Treatment of Complaints<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Ocean County College will promptly and effectively address any such discrimination of which it has Knowledge\/Notice using the appropriate resolution process(es) associated with this policy and\/or others referenced in the procedure including the Progressive Discipline policy (Policy #3006), the Formal Student Complaint policy (Policy #5230), and\/or the Student Discipline policy (Policy #5247).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-h4\">Retaliation<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>It is prohibited for Ocean County College or any member of Ocean County College\u2019s community (in collusion with or on a party\u2019s behalf) to take materially adverse action by intimidating, threatening, coercing, harassing, or discriminating against any individual for the purpose of interfering with any right or privilege secured by law or policy, or because the individual has made a report or complaint, testified, assisted, or participated or refused to participate in any manner in an investigation, proceeding, or hearing under the policy. In accordance with Federal Title IX law, the College can and may require staff and faculty to participate in any Title IX investigation in which they are named a complainant, respondent, or witness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Protected activity under this policy includes reporting an incident that may implicate this policy, participating in the complaint process, supporting a Complainant or Respondent, assisting in providing information relevant to an investigation, and\/or acting in good faith to oppose conduct that constitutes a violation of this policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adopted: December 9, 1991<br>Revised: June 23, 2003<br>Revised: April 28, 2022<br>Revised: November 3, 2022<br>Revised: June 27, 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-h4\">PROCEDURE<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Title IX and ADA\/504 Coordinator has been designated as the Ocean County College administrator responsible for overseeing efforts to comply with discrimination laws based on sex, pregnancy or related conditions, physical or mental disability (including perceived disability), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, domestic violence victim status including responding to complaints and coordinating and\/or conducting investigations of any allegation of noncompliance of these laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Complaints related to sex\/gender-based harassment or discrimination will be addressed using the procedures identified in the Title IX Complaint Report and Response Procedure Manual (for incidents occurring on or after August 1, 2024) or The Nondiscrimination, Equal Opportunity, and Harassment Grievance Procedure manual (for incidents occurring August 14, 2020 through July 31, 2024. A copy of the governing manual may be obtained from the office of the Title IX and ADA\/504 Coordinator or may be viewed online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Complaints alleging discriminatory treatment based on disability status and\/or in the accommodations process will be addressed using the procedures identified in the ADA\/504 Complaint Report and Response Procedure. A copy of this procedure may be obtained from the office of the Title IX and ADA\/504 Coordinator or may be viewed online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ocean County College encourages faculty, staff, and students who have questions about Title IX or ADA\/504 compliance or who want to report an incident of discrimination including sex\/gender-based harassment\/discrimination&nbsp;or disability status to contact the Title IX and ADA\/504 Coordinator via one of the following methods:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For Title IX Complaints: By submitting the online&nbsp;<a is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>It is the policy of Ocean County College (the College) not to discriminate on the basis of disability. It is against the law for Ocean County College to retaliate against anyone who files a grievance or cooperates in the investigation of a grievance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Grievances will be submitted to the ADA\/504 Coordinator. A complaint must be in writing, containing the name and address of the person filing it. The complaint must state the problem or action alleged to be discriminatory and the remedy or relief sought.&nbsp; A complaint may be filed online using the College\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cm.maxient.com\/reportingform.php?OceanCountyCollege&amp;layout_id=40\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Harassment, Discrimination, and Retaliation Complaint Form<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ADA\/504 Coordinator shall conduct an investigation of the complaint. This investigation may be informal, but it must be thorough, affording all interested persons an opportunity to submit evidence relevant to the complaint. Complaints can take 30 business days to resolve. There are always exceptions and extenuating circumstances that can cause a resolution to take longer, but the College will avoid all undue delays within its control.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any time the general timeframes for resolution outlined in Ocean County College procedures will be delayed, the College will provide written notice to the parties of the delay, the cause of the delay, and an estimate of the anticipated additional time that will be needed as a result of the delay.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ADA\/504 Coordinator will maintain the files and records of Ocean County College relating to such grievances.&nbsp;
